Lil Nas X Named New President of ‘League of Legends,’ Says “Bottoms Are No Longer Allowed to Play”

Published: Thursday 15th Sep 2022 by Rashad

When not rocking stages around the world on his current ‘Long Live Montero Tour,’ rapper-singer Lil Nas X is keeping his money long thanks to a slew of brand endorsements announced over the last month.

Just days after taking to press to reveal he was the new face of Coach and YSL Beauty (as we reported here), news has now surfaced the GRAMMY winner has penned a deal with Riot Games to serve as the face of one of its most popular online games:  League of Legends.

Details inside.

Responsible for creating and curating magical musical moments to tie to the League universe, X has signed on to be the new President of the game franchise that currently boasts nearly 200 million monthly players.

Speaking on the brand partnership, Naz Aletaha, Global Head of League Esports for Riot Games, shared his elation via an official press statement.

“Lil Nas X is the most electrifying name in music, so when he showed up at our headquarters and told us that he wanted to be President of League and join us throughout Worlds, we of course said ‘yes’,” said Aletaha. “We’ve all been blown away by his vision, passion, and undeniable style, and we can’t wait to see what he brings to the Worlds stage in San Francisco this November.”

LNX echoed the sentiment.

“I felt like it was time for me to try something new. I’ve left my mark on pop culture in so many ways, and now it’s time to take on the world of gaming. I will be the greatest President, of League of Legends, of all time. Also I’m going to make the best Worlds anthem of all time and put on the biggest, coolest, sexiest Worlds in the history of all Worlds!” said Nas X.

The anthem, titled ‘Star Walkin,’ is due to hit digital shelves September 23.  Its unveiling will come just ahead of the start of Worlds on September 29 in Mexico City and a live LNX performance at the Worlds Opening Ceremony leading into the World Final in San Francisco on November 5.

As fans took to Twitter to celebrate the news, the global superstar was sure to engage in the trolling he’s become famous for.

As a gaymer this amuses me deeply.

He needs to drop a skin routine because the melanin is melanining.

Cue a bunch of bottoms who would let him buss them down hating and projecting the same homophobic rhetoric their family says at Thanksgiving, but judging by the miserables on here I bet 99.9% of these trolls are disowned.
